F-18 Hornet Blue Angels RTF 2.4 GHz

Take to the skies with your very own Blue Angels F-18 Hornet ducted fan jet.  This is the model jet that initially inspired us to offer the Art-Tech product line.  We are extremely impressed with it's looks, and performance, and are very happy to add it to our new lineup of EDF jets.

This beautiful blue and yellow F-18 model comes completely decorated with decals applied. Airframe is constucted entirely of EPS foam, for superior strength, and durability. The brushless powered ducted fan unit gives this jet plenty of power to get off the ground, make high speed passes, and yet will slow down nicely for soft landings.

Thanks to the expertly designed airframe, rolls are fast and effortless, and the plane remains very stable in inverted flight. The Blue Angels F-18 features a much improved electronic system now with 2.4 gHZ high frequency radio with spread spectrum technoolgy for glitch free flying. There is no need to worry about other flyers on your frequency or stray FM radio signals with this new system. It uses three channels for flight: throttle, ailerons, and elevator, with a fourth channel (rudder) devoted to just steering the front wheel. Ground handling is easy, and turning around on a narrow runway is no problem.

All electronic components are factory installed. Final assembly takes about one hour, including using the supplied epoxy glue to attach the wings, elevators, and rudders, installing the landing gear, and connecting the control linkages. Average flight duration with the included 1600 mAH LiPo battery is 6-8 minutes.

The F-18 Blue Angels is for intermediate pilots. It is best flown off of a smooth runway, as it does require a longer takeoff run. We do not recommend hand launching, and belly landing is not a good option because the landing gear needs to stay in place to protect the motor ducts, as well as maintain the balance of the plane. While not for beginners, the F-18 is a stable and smooth flyer, and will make an excellent first jet for any pilot ready to take the plunge into EDF jets.
