Overview
The Sukhoi Su-27 Warrior is designed for the hobby jet enthusiast, and features a powerful brushless twin ducted fan propulsion system. Airframe is constructed completely of EPS foam, for superior strength, and durability. Based on its full-scale counterpart, this Soviet jet fighter has a high roll rate and is capable of high speed passes, and yet will slow down to a very manageable cruising speed, and allow for slow, easy landings. It will also perform loops, rolls, and inverted flight with ease. The SU-27 will require some minor assembly, and will be ready to fly in about an hour. It's 3 cell 2200 mAH LiPo battery will provide an average flight duration of 10 minutes.
The SU-27 features a much improved electronic system now with 2.4 gHZ high frequency radio with channel hopping technolgy for glitch free flying. There is no need to worry about other flyers or stray FM radio signals with this new system. It uses three channels for flight: throttle, ailerons, and elevator, with a fourth channel (rudder) devoted to just steering the front wheel. The aileron and elevator each use twin servos, giving this jet a very firm feeling at the controls. It is best to take off on a smooth runway, as it does require a longer takeoff run, and grass is not a good option because the landing gear needs to stay in place to protect the motor ducts, as well as maintain the balance of the plane.
We don't recommend the SU-27 for for your first plane, but even the moderately experienced pilot can easily set up this model and fly it with confidence. Of course, with it's powerful twin brushless EDF power plants it is highly maneuverable and begs to be "wrung out" by an expert pilot. Fast, and fun, this twin EDF jet will definitely satisfy your need for speed!
